The SilenceThere was a silence. A cold, hard and unforgiving silence. It seemed to last for hours. Actually, it did last for hours, twelve, to be exact, and sixteen minutes. So far. The room was isolated from the rest of the house, hardly attatched; you had to leave the main building to get inside. The walls inside were bare except for a calendar showing three fluffy, black and white kittens sitting in flower pots for the month of August. The only furnature was an unmade bed, a desk with a computer and piles of paper on it, and a chair with wheels, the backrest leaning up against the desk.The Silence

Normally she would be scared being there, in the dark, alone, but tonight the stillness calmed her. She felt more at peace than she had for along time. To exist there in that still nothingness forever was all she longed for in that instant when she stepped outside. The streets were empty, even the main road was quiet. There were no animals rustling in hedges, no owls hooting from their trees. All that seemed to exist was the air and the soft tapping as her bare feet carried her down the road.Everything is Nothing
